Want to revise a lifeless poem? Don’t know how?
In the final installment of this lunchtime seminar series—that uses Dean Young’s The Art of Recklessness: Poetry as Assertive Force and Contradiction as a guiding principle—we will look at two versions of the same poem as a way of discussing how to revise life into a well-crafted but otherwise flat poem.
Chet’la Sebree, a mid-Atlantic native, was the 2014-2016 Stadler Fellow at Bucknell University’s Stadler Center for Poetry. She is a graduate of American University’s MFA in Creative Writing program and has received fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, Hedgebrook, the Vermont Studio Center, and the International Center for Jefferson Studies.
