Art Opening: Giselle Gautreau

Join us for wine, cheese, and lively conversation as we celebrate the artwork of Giselle Gautreau.

About the Artist

Giselle Gautreau is an artist based in Charlottesville, Virginia.   She recently returned to Virginia with her family after living in the Bay Area of California for 10 years.

Giselle was born and raised in New England, and her family is French Canadian. She studied painting and printmaking at Maine College of Art, where she received her BFA.   Giselle went on to obtain her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Arts.

Giselle has received awards for her work, including a Professional Artist Fellowship from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Virginia Commission for the Arts.  She was awarded an Achievement in the Arts Award from the National League of American Pen Women.   Her paintings are included in many private and corporate collections.   Giselle is a resident artist at the McGuffey Art Center in downtown Charlottesville.  You can reach her via email at gg@gisellegautreau.com or visit her in Studio 12 at the McGuffey Art Center.
