Join us at The Bridge PAI, 209 Monticello Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22902, for a reading featuring Annie Kim, Sharon Harrigan, and Henry Hoke.

Henry Hoke

Henry Hoke was a child in the South and an adult in New York and California. He authored The Book of Endless Sleepovers (Civil Coping Mechanisms, 2016) and Genevieves (winner of the Subito Press prose contest, forthcoming 2017). Some of his stories appear in The Collagist, PANK, Gigantic and Carve. He co-created and directs Enter>text, a living literary journal.

Annie Kim’s first poetry collection, Into the Cyclorama, won the 2015 Michael Waters Poetry Prize. Her poems have appeared in Kenyon Review, Ninth Letter, Mudlark, Asian American Literary Review, Crab Orchard Review, and elsewhere. A graduate of Warren Wilson College’s MFA Program for Writers, Kim is the recipient of fellowships from the Virginia Center for Creative Arts and the Hambidge Center, and serves as an editor for DMQ Review.

Sharon Harrigan’s memoir, Playing with Dynamite: A Daughter’s Story will be published by Truman State University Press in 2017. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Narrative, Virginia Quarterly Review, and many other publications. She received the Joyce Horton Johnson Award from Key West Literary Seminar and the Kinder Prize from Pleiades. She teaches yearlong memoir classes at WriterHouse.
