Learn to elevate your poetry by diving into the world of rhyme and rhythm. In this seminar, we’ll cover various techniques to improve experimental poetry through rhyme, alliteration, assonance, and more! Liven up your verse with writing exercises and a brief performance workshop that will teach you how to find the musicality in your writing.
James Cole is a graduate of The College of William and Mary, where he studied creative writing, medieval literature, and neuroscience. He is currently working on his PhD in Neurobiology at the UVA Medical School while also pursuing a career inwriting. His work has appeared in the America Library of Poetry’s annual anthology, as well as numerous other literary journals including Jump! and Winged Nation. In 2016 he won The Gallery poetry prize and was a finalist in the Golden Nib poetry contest. In 2018 he produced a poetry zine, “Jimble Jambles Life in Shambles” and is currently working on his collections “Crow, come home” and “The Kithian Verses.”
