First Fridays Art Opening, “Xaos” by Caroline Breves
May 3 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Join us for food, wine, and lively conversation as we celebrate the artwork of Caroline Breves. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
Caroline Breves is a printmaker and painter, originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The exhibition, Xaos, is a series of monotypes, fluid paintings that are printed onto and absorbed by the paper. Her artwork conveys the fluid energy of force: the forces of nature, the forms and rhythms of nature and the body. The variation between her pieces plays on the different levels of perspective, reminiscent of the larger forces in the universe, while contrasting and relating them to the forces within our very bodies and biology.
Those who are unable to attend the opening can view the exhibit throughout the summer (through the beginning of September) during our open writing hours, Monday – Friday 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
