Wednesdays, 3/24/21 – 5/12/21 | 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
This class will focus primarily on sharing and workshopping participant writing. It will also include close reading and analysis of the kinds of poems we keep coming back to—poems that are bright lights in times of trouble and poems that serve as anchors throughout every season of life. This class will include prompts based on the readings and opportunities for participants to share their own anchor poems.
This course is for poets who have taken introductory and intermediate level poetry workshops before, either through a writing center or university.
Joanna Currey is from Virginia. She holds an MFA in poetry from Vanderbilt University, and previously earned her BA in English and Poetry Writing from the University of Virginia where she wrote mostly about plants, bodies, family, and religion. Joanna’s writing has appeared in Presence: a Journal of Catholic Poetry, Nashville Review, Nimrod International Journal, and Alaska Quarterly Review.
Registration is closed for this ongoing class.
