Reading & Signing by Donna Isaac

Teacher/ poet Donna Isaac will read from her 2018 poetry book, Footfalls (Pocahontas Press), which celebrates her formative homes in Appalachian regions and touches on folk, bluegrass, and mountain music especially as collected by John and Allan Lomax. Refreshments will be served, and Donna will sign books after the reading.
Donna grew up in several Virginia areas as well as in North Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia. She holds a B.A. in English from James Madison University, an M.A. in English from the University of Minnesota, and an M.F.A. in writing from Hamline University. In addition to Footfalls, she has published two chapbooks, Tommy (Red Dragonfly Press), an elegiac homage to her brother; and Holy Comforter (Red Bird Chapbooks), focusing on growing up Catholic in the South. Her poetry has also appeared in various literary magazines such as Crosswinds Poetry, Perfume River, and The Saint Paul Almanac. She currently works as a teaching artist throughout the Twin Cities, Minnesota, and organizes community poetry readings. Visit her website at donnaisaacpoet.com
