Self-Publishing 101 (Cancelled!)
May 2 @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Instructor: Doug Lawson
$60 Members | $65 Nonmembers
Saturday, 5/2/20 | 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm
While traditional publishers are reducing advances, royalties, and asking authors to handle more and more marketing for their books, there’s a renaissance happening in the self-publishing world today. New and established writers are bringing their works directly to readers, without stigma, and many are making some decent money as a result.
This seminar will focus on what you, as a writer, may need to know if you’re thinking about self-publishing. We’ll look at strategies and mindsets, as well as take a hands-on look at available tools and resources that will allow you to assess your markets, evaluate the competition, produce your very best product, and help it reach your audiences.
Doug Lawson’s work has appeared, under his own name, in Glimmer Train Stories, Brevity, and the Mississippi Review. His latest book is Bigfoots In Paradise, from Red Hen Press, which Booklist called “Vivid…haunting…assured and atmospheric.” He also produces Urban and Epic Fantasy as writer J. Boothby, and you can find his books at https://www.amazon.com/J-Boothby/e/B082K7RXR6
THIS SEMINAR HAS BEEN CANCELLED. WE WILL RESCHEDULE WHEN IT CAN BE HELD IN-PERSON.
