Meets monthly on Saturday for eleven months: 9/28/19, 10/26/19, 11/23/19, 12/14/19, 1/25/20, 2/29/20, 3/28/20, 4/25/20, 5/23/20, 6/27/20, 7/25/20 | 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm

This is a course for committed writers who want some structure and accountability for reaching their writing goals. Reaching these goals is often more easily said than done. We often lose our way when we have no sounding board, no one to check in with to see if our characters are believable or if our plot lines are compelling or logical. We can get sucked into research rabbit holes or into endless rounds of second-guessing.

This year-long once-a-month class features instruction, encouragement, community, accountability, and an audience for ongoing work. Each writer will set their own goals, and the class will provide a peer-supported accountability structure to help everyone meet them. Workshopping in this class will happen “live,” with each writer sharing from a work-in-progress and receiving fresh, constructive responses to it. This workshop style allows writers to participate in other courses at the same time without increasing their “homework” load.

This is a follow-on to this summer’s “Plan Your Writing Year” course, but newcomers are welcome too. Instructor will arrange a meeting with each student prior to the start of class to discuss individual needs.
