Do you have a story inside, waiting to be told? Are you struggling to begin? To keep going? To figure out where you’ll end up? Welcome to the writing life. Come to this workshop and launch yourself into it. Share your work with supportive, thoughtful classmates. Discuss the fundamentals of writing — narrative, structure, point-of-view, voice — and how they bring a story to life. Ignite your creative impulse by reading and discussing contemporary literature.
This class is for those who are still searching, as well as those who have begun their creative writing projects. Memoirs, novels, short stories, and personal essays are welcome.
Deborah Harris’s piece, “A Mutt for America,” ran in Dissent Magazine, and her short story, “News of My Life,” appeared in The Southampton Review. She teaches creative writing in Dobbs Ferry, New York, and is currently working on a novel. She earned an MALS in literature from Wesleyan University and an MFA in fiction writing from Sarah Lawrence College.
Registration is closed for this ongoing class.
