This workshop is open to all, beginner to professional, writers, patients, and people in medicine. The subject encompasses any illness, disease, or condition that the writer, a loved one, or a patient has suffered or is suffering. I welcome physicians, nurses, mental and public health professionals, writers, scholars, and all those interested in the intersection of narrative, medicine, and healing.
Thomas Larson is the author of The Sanctuary of Illness, The Memoir and the Memoirist: Reading and Writing Personal Narrative, and The Saddest Music Ever Written: The Story of Samuel Barber's 'Adagio for Strings. He has led workshops and classes in memoir writing around the country.
