Fiction Workshop

This fiction workshop welcomes all levels of writers. We will read and provide feedback on one another’s stories or novel excerpts. We will also read and discuss a small selection of contemporary short fiction and essays about writing. I will provide a few writing prompts or exercises during each class. You should leave this workshop with a broader understanding of the elements of narrative, new writing ideas, and plenty of feedback on your work.
Maria Adelmann is a Hoyns Fellow and fiction instructor at the University of Virginia. She has previously worked as a visual merchandiser, blogger, and helpline counselor. She has won several writing awards and is currently working on a short story collection.
