Saturday, March 16, 2013 | 9:00am-1:00pm
This seminar, co-led by author Jay Kauffmann and clinical psychologist Russell Grieger, will look at the art of writing through the lens of psychology, with the understanding that all good writing starts at the core of artistic identity. For poets, fiction and nonfiction writers alike, this course will consider the path to finding your own authentic voice and uncovering emotional truth in your work. We will look at writer's block and the anxieties of creation and propose means to unlock the creative self and promote artistic daring. There will be in-class exercises and readings.
WriterHouse is teaming up with Light House Studio to present a screenwriting workshop for teens, three Saturdays, March 9, 16 & 23, 1:30-3:30pm.
Tuition: $75 (some scholarships available for students who cannot afford the fee. Contact WriterHouse or Light House Studio.)
Registration information on the Light House Website.

Discover the range of Creative Nonfiction’s many forms, subjects, and styles. Students will write nonfiction pieces and share them with the class in a workshop. We will also read a sampling of nonfiction (personal essays, profiles, literary journalism, and more) to see how authors craft the stuff of the real world into stories with characters, setting, and themes as vivid and compelling as any novel.
