Participants are required to have fiction work ready to workshop at the outset of class or be able to produce material week-to-week. Students will be asked to write, read, and provide feedback to peers, both orally and in writing, throughout the 8 weeks. With a special focus on writing action, we will have in-depth discussions of style, voice, and other aspects of the craft—setting, character development, dialogue, description—and how to successfully handle those components when writing action. To enroll in the class, students must submit a writing sample of at least 750 words to the instructor. Email sample to firstname.lastname@example.org.
