(Six class meetings in one week)
Grab your writing gear and get ready for an immersive character development experience. Writers will spend six sessions over a week encamped with colleagues as we focus on refining characters until they feel so real that we’ll know how they like their s’mores. Heck, we might even be ready to tandem canoe with them by the end.
The class will cover the essentials of effective character development, and each session will include activities for you to hone the characters in your work in progress or create new ones if you’re starting something new. We’ll look at how point of view, description, and dialogue contribute to character development and talk about the decision-making process to determine which character details need to make it to the page and which can stay back in the tent in the writer’s mind.
See you and your characters at camp!
