Do you have a short story, memoir, or novel in the works?
If publication is your goal, your work needs polish. How do you know when it’s shiny enough to send out?
Historical Novelist Liza Nash Taylor will lead a seminar for writers of all genres and levels. We’ll explore resources for refining and revising stories and manuscripts on your own, and we’ll have two lightning round peer critiques of one page of your work.
Before we meet, you’ll send in one page of your WIP (note-sharing is not mandatory). Through interactive feedback we’ll gain insight into our own work and learn from fellow writers. Using critique guidelines, we’ll discuss what works and what might work better. Our second meeting will include another lightning round to share revisions, or a new page.
In addition, we’ll discuss practical methods for copy editing and formatting your work before you submit it.
In a bonus optional session (30 minutes), Liza will answer your questions about the traditional publication experience, submitting to literary magazines and contests, finding and querying literary agents, and how to keep track of it all. Self-publishing won’t be covered.
