Staying the Course (Online class)

June 12, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm EDT

Instructor: Jody Hobbs Hesler
$260 Members | $289 Nonmembers
Every other Saturday for eleven months, 9/19/20 – 7/24/21 | 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm

This course is designed for writers charting their way through longer projects, such as novels, memoirs, story collections, etc., but it could also work for writers who are simply working toward a more disciplined writing practice. In this class, we will set broad goals for the year and more specific targets for each next class meeting; discuss our successes and our struggles along the way — offering accountability as well as camaraderie; workshop some of our writing; explore craft elements. Best suited for committed writers.

Dates: 9/19, 10/10, 10/24, 11/7, 11/21, 12/5, 12/19, 1/9, 1/23, 2/13, 2/27, 3/13, 3/27, 4/10, 4/24, 5/8, 5/22, 6/12, 6/26, 7/10, 7/24.

Jody Hobbs Hesler’s fiction, feature articles, essays, and book reviews appear or are forthcoming in Arts & Letters, North American Review’s Open Space online, CRAFT, Grist, Pithead Chapel, Gargoyle, Raleigh Review, Streetlight Magazine, The Georgia Review, [PANK], Valparaiso Fiction Review, Prime Number, A Short Ride: Remembering Barry Hannah, Charlottesville Wine & Country Life, and other publications.
