Session Two: Saturday, 8/14/21 | 10:00 am – 11:30 am
What is a golden shovel poem, and what inherent meanings might the form carry? What tradition are you participating in when you write one? And why bother with form at all? In this two-part seminar, we will explore these questions, look at the history and origins of this young form, and read and discuss a selection of golden shovels written by contemporary poets. Participants will write their own golden shovels to share and workshop in our second session.
This seminar is open to poets of all experience and skill levels.
