As part of the #TheWrite2Heal series of events, WriterHouse once again joins with the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library to co-sponsor the 2020 Poetry Contest for Adults

Calling all poets! April is National Poetry Month. Celebrate by entering our Poetry Contest.
The Poetry Contest is open from March 1 – April 30, 2020, for poets age 18 and above. One thirty line or less poem may be submitted by each contestant. A panel of judges will review the entries, with the finalists being judged by Henry Hart, the Poet Laureate of Virginia.
The winners of this contest will be contacted directly and a public announcement will be posted online at jmrlblog.com. Winners will be mailed their awards.

Is the competition still being held? Is the deadline date of 3/31 still applicable? The April 23 date?

The contest deadline has been extended to April 30. We will post the new entry form as soon as the library has it. In the meantime, go ahead and use the old one.
Can we submit our entry poem by mail since Writer House and all libraries are now closed?
